| Fragestellung(en) der Befragung | At the beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic, we developed an online survey to assess and compare how individuals with Special education needs and their families were affected by the crisis and how well they were coping. This grew into a remarkable international collaboration: By mid-July, from all over the world, more than 10’000 families had completed the survey, with more than 400 participating families from Switzerland. The survey included questions about how families behaved and coped concerning whether the educational establishment remained open or not, the contact they could have with other professionals, the anxieties experienced by the families and the coping strategies they employed. While analysis has just begun, it would suggest that families’ anxiety levels depended significantly on their child’s condition. |
